PAP MPs

World isn't all black and white. Just like there are rotten eggs and bad apples in the Opposition camp, there are also rose amongst the thorns in the PAP camp.

The end goal here is to make Singapore a better place for Singaporeans. Some people try to do it from within the PAP, others try to do it from outside. We should applaud all such people though, and not apply guilt by association.
agree

that's why i'd ask in in post.4 "what have they achieved" and then post.13 for "tangible results (not empty words). any result would do for me".

so far none is forthcoming

Please note, there are a a few former PAP Mps who have the people's respect like TCB,,,but they are ex mps as such MPs are thrown out by the Familee.

There is no way to change the PAP from within unless u are a member of the Familee,,but if u are a member, will u change?

If you want to look at the 'tangible results' in improving the lives of Singaporeans, then arguably people like Mr Tan Cheng Bock has achieved more than most other opposition party members. At least he got us free parking on Sundays. While people has hailed JBJ becoming the first opposition MP, I don't seem him getting any 'tangible results' in improving the lives of Singaporeans.

The fight for a better Singapore is a multi-pronged attack

1. We want good people within the PAP itself to influence the push for better policies for us
2. We want good opposition presence to force the PAP to improve their policies
3. We want voters to show the PAP with our votes that we want better policies

Everyone has a part to play, and we should not brush off the efforts of those working towards the same goal, but from a different angle.

Good people in todays PAP is an oxymoron. Most of the so called good PAP Mps are all gone, replaced with yes men and ball lickers.

I have mentioned this many times, the Familee tolerates few dissent and old fart is damn vindictive and pinky is damn incompetent. Look at Tan Soo Khoon, David Lim and TCB. The moment they speak up, they get axed. TCB stayed a longer time and David Lim was not treated any worse due to the fact that Wooden spoke up for them and defended them to a certain extent..but wooden also has gone over to the dark side.

Bottom line is I would not bet on any so called good 'PAP Mps' I rather vote for the opposition. I bet the next PAP MP to go will be the Singh fellow that spoke out on the 6.9 million issue...Familee tolerates no dissent,,,

Agree with you. LKY never allow dissenters like TSK, TCH and David Lim to go far nor stay so as to frighten the other PAP MPs into submission. Look at the quality of PAP MPs now..all yes-men to the detriment of LHL

i'm open to whether "free sunday parking" is "tangible results" or not. perhaps we can have a show of hands on how many here bothered about this....

anyway i'm not saying it is the case, but i would not be surprised if some white scums are given the "good cop" role to play

this is mischievous

you could fault jbj for not holding onto a m.p seat long enough to effect any change but to fault him for not effecting any change when the opportunities were rob from him?

1. after 50yrs i will be among the last to still believe this will happen. how about you?
2. i'll be glad if the oppos dun score spectacular own goals anymore. the white scums' own goals will ensure in ge2016 we will see more competition that always, always benefits the consumers
3. i have confidence that more daft, silent 60% will get more affected with each passing days. so yes this is inevitable

you may have a point. but the ultimate proof that any ex-white scums could be any good is if they join oppos to use their influence to effect real change

Has it occured to u tat cos of jbj n cst tat made pap throw more crumbs on the floor so tat its a wayang to show they care? The oppo makes the pap listen. If no cst n jbj than i doubt TCB would have convince pap to.allow free parking n all tat.

spoken like a damned fool..........

when someone joins the PAP........that someone is not serving the people but himself..............

Since GRC was created, every PAP MP did not get into Parliament on his own merits as chosen by sinkies. All of them, except those from SMC, got into Parliament under GRC, devised to prevent oppo parties from "making noises" in Parliament. PAP MP were not chosen by sinkies. MP are supposed to be chosen by the people, to work for the people. In sinkie land, MP were chosen for the people by PAP under the GRC. Is this democracy? The lucky few MP became Ministers and instant millionaires overnight. Sinkie land is the only country, an unique one, in the world with GRC. Now GRC is going to haunt PAP in 2016.

So, why do you join PAP for? Love for the country? To serve the poor, needy and the sick? Hard to believe. LTK, Mao, SL and others from oppo parties could have easily "bo charp", lead an ordinary life and let the rot goes on in sinkie land.

that goes for the other oppos.... difference being they tried differing strategy with differing result. but tried they did.

of course then we also have our share of fake oppos who pretend to try but actually they are slowing/distracting the oppo cause
