I think even after deregister the posts are still inside and cannot be taken out.

only admin can do that kind of complete job.
Never come across such option in vbulletin but the question is why do you need to de-register, just fade away. If for some reason you want or need to disable your account I believe Sam can do it, maybe in such a way that threads started by you are closed or your posts cant be quoted. I remember in the other forum someone I know had his account disabled such a way.
