Drugs are never death penalty offences though, usually for states that do impose death penalty, it's for murder or terrorism.

Those who support death penalty should demand a national referendum on this issue but those anti DP activists wouldn't do so because they know they will confirm lose in a referendum. It's another case of minorities viewpoints aggressively overriding the majorities stance.

Drug traffickers should be hanged because the drugs they carry, kill and ruin the futures of many others. Families get broken up.

However for those who are very young when they deliver drugs, they could probably be given life imprisonment instead of death sentence.

It's not that we shouldn't deal harshly with drug traffickers but we must change the way SG convicts. SG's anti-drug law is guilty until proven innocent. I think we must repeal the presumption of guilt law since the punishment is death.

These people have lived in a bubble or have had a pampered life. They probably never seen the death or destruction it brings to families, friends and even neighbours. They have not heard of entire siblings from families lost to drugs. They have not seen HDB blocks half full of drug addicts. They have not seen girls from well to do families hooked and selling themselves for pittance. I met a farmer who put his only son in a cage to save him from drugs.

These are people who follow fads and can't tell the difference between heroin and ganja. These are people who can't work out how many straws that 15 grams of heroin can make. These are people who think that everyone is an innocent misguided mule.

If the West was offended by the colour blue, these are the people who can be counted to come forward asking for the colour blue to changed.

Singapore's tough stance against drugs has saved thousands of lives. Drug dealers cause death and untold misery. They deserve what Singapore dishes out for them. I wish more countries would do the same.

1) Increased crimes and jail time
2) Compensation for the families dead criminals (from death penalty)

America is currently in a war against Drugs, they are losing(just go ask any Americans and they will tell you the same). So instead of fighting it, some of them are proposing legalizing it!!!! Great way to go

SG is one of the main transit point for Drug pushers. No major drug problems here.

Vui Kong is just a beginning, death penalty is inhumane and should be abolish. Singapore cannot claim itself a 1st world country if they continue to execute life
