Many of us have a favorite carrier that we use to put our things in.
I too, have a special pouch that I carry around with me wherever I go.
Can you #GuessWhat is in my pouch?

A fire broke out earlier this evening at Block 5 Holland Close. Thanks to Singapore Civil Defence Force’s swift and professional response, the situation was brought under control and all residents were safely evacuated.
Our thoughts are with the two residents who were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, and the two brave firefighters receiving treatment for heat exhaustion. We wish them all a full and speedy recovery.
We’re working closely with agencies, grassroots leaders and volunteers to support those affected. If you or someone you know needs help or temporary lodging, please reach out via PM at My Buona Vista.
Thank you to our emergency responders for your courage and quick action. Stay safe, everyone.

Singapore and France reaffirmed our strong and broad-based bilateral defence relationship this week. A delegation led by Minister of State for Defence Mr Desmond Choo 朱倍庆 was in France for the 55th Paris Air Show and met with French defence and industry leaders.
The visit also included a commemoration of 60 years of Singapore-France diplomatic relations at the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s Advanced Jet Training Detachment, 150 Squadron, at Cazaux Air Base.
Our overseas training detachments are vital for the SAF. For our The Republic of Singapore Air Force personnel stationed in France, Cazaux has been their home away from home since the detachment stood up in 1998. Such overseas training allows the RSAF to overcome Singapore’s land and airspace constraints, providing the space to ensure our people are well-trained and remain operationally ready.
Thank you to our French partners for their unwavering support for our Cazaux detachment. These interactions strengthen the friendship and understanding between our countries and armed forces.

Yesterday evening, I visited the families affected by the recent fire at Blk 5 Holland Close. While some homes suffered significant smoke and fire damage, I’m thankful all residents are safe.
It was difficult for the affected families to go through this, but I was heartened to see how quickly our community rallied together. Neighbours looked out for one another, and our teams from PA, SCDF, HDB and Town Council worked swiftly to provide support and reassurance.
We are working closely with the relevant agencies to assist with their recovery, from temporary accommodation to cleaning and repair needs.
Thank you to everyone who stepped forward to help. In Buona Vista, we walk together, especially in tough times. That’s what makes our community strong.

Keechiu was delighted to meet Peter. :o-o::confused::tongue:

Delighted to meet Peter Kyle, UK Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, Lord Vernon Coaker, Minister of State for Defence (Minister for the House of Lords), and Nik Mehta, British High Commissioner to Singapore, aboard HMS Prince of Wales during their visit to Singapore.
Singapore is honoured to host the sailors aboard the Carrier Strike Group, including the HMS Prince of Wales. This is the first time the Marina Bay Cruise Centre has hosted a warship, which speaks to the ingenuity and like-mindedness between both countries in breaking new ground together. It is a wonderful way to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations.
The close historical links between Singapore and the United Kingdom go beyond 60 years and span close to two centuries. Today, we are more than partners in defence where Singapore and the UK are also members of the Five Power Defence Arrangements, we are old friends, with a long-standing relationship between our countries built on trust, shared values, and a commitment to peace and security.
People-to-people ties at all levels also remain strong. I, for one, fondly recall the friendships and memories made during my time studying in the United Kingdom.
I look forward to our continued friendship and cooperation, as we work together to ensure safe and resilient homes for our people. Wishing HMS Prince of Wales fair winds and smooth sailing on her journey ahead.

Ever wonder how we, as a small island nation, keep our waters safe and sea lines of communications open? A big part of it lies in the hard work of our sailors, and our strong cooperation with key international partners.
The Republic of Singapore Navy and United States Navy recently wrapped up the fifth edition of Exercise Pacific Griffin, having trained hard in the waters off Guam.
This bilateral exercise, along with other regular interactions, enhances cooperation and mutual understanding between Singapore and the US, a partnership that goes back nearly six decades. Both navies embarked on a series of missions from live missile firings to maritime counter-terrorism operations training, with participating The Republic of Singapore Air Force assets.
Thank you to all our men and women in uniform, and to our US counterparts for making this exercise a success!

Keechiu promoted Andrew. :o-o::confused::tongue:

Last week, during a house visit, I had the pleasant surprise of running into Andrew, who reminded me that I had promoted him 15 years ago when I was the Chief of Army.
Just a few days later, on Friday, I presented promotion certificates to our service personnel at this year’s MINDEF/SAF Promotion Ceremony, now as Minister for Defence.
As MINDEF/SAF's capabilities evolve and grow to meet tomorrow's needs, the most important investment we must make is in our people. It is the professionalism, dedication, and hard work of our MINDEF and SAF personnel that keep Singapore safe and secure.
I would also like to express my appreciation to the families of our service personnel. The support and encouragement you provide behind the scenes are essential to their ability to serve. I am sure you are proud of the meaningful work they do.
Congratulations once again to this year’s promotees. You have done well, and I look forward to seeing your continued contributions to MINDEF and the SAF.
