if you go to the jackpot section, you will see uncles and aunties all desperately hitting and even thumbing the panel...some even pray and chant...and do all sorts of voodoo theatricals to get the jackpot!!!!....however hard they try, they will all lose....
the jackpot machines continue to tease them, continue to taunt them, continue to entice them ...in the end, you see the uncles and aunties all staring at the machine: totally mindless and totally lost in their thoughts - they become brain dead. they have completely emptied their bankroll, plus their earnings, plus all their savings, plus all their atms, plus all their borrowings ,plus everything..
the only recourse is of course....end it all....tragedy and death.

You can find them at every library all over SINgapore, before opening times, they will be at the door & many are regulars, will 'CHOPE' the newspapers & certain seats too. I found this out a long time back, on leave nothing to do in the morning & decide to head for the library. Many will fall asleep there too. FREE AIRCOND. Never used their Internet service though...can we access SBF there?? or it is in the banned filter, filed under PORN!
you can find some at McD....sleeping at one corner. or they buy a drink or a pack of fries and then sit there and sleep the whole day and even night....some even help to clear the tables and then took the leftovers......

Never tried the library internet services...it is a good experience visiting the library not for the books, but for all the weird characters in it...you even have chee ko ah peks...all retirees.

Last time don't have casino, people also go to Genting and Cruise wat..............there have always been and there will always be people who get into debts (esp credit cards debts) because of vices including punting the stock market. There have been numerous suicides due to punting in stock market.
The other time my GL OKT even told me that there was this regular customer who has been booking his girl and booking 3-4 slots at one time. In the end he was even caught for using fake credit cards just to buy gifts for the whore. The other OKT was also telling me that he once had to deny entry to a young chap who has been booking his girl for 3-4 slots every other day because he did not want this chap to fall into the debt trap. I also has a friend who got into serious debts from banks and friends because of cheonging in HFJ. Its common to see people in credit cards debts from cheoging in KTV/HFJ.
Like what Sam said, people simply has to take responsibility for their life and actions. The casino is there - just like the GL whore house, the stock market, the KTV/HFJ, the Singapore Pools shop..............so why blame garment?

Agree. If old enough to vote, should be old enough to think. Govt cannot be our nanny. Imo, casinos aren't the main killers because you need cash before you bet in the casinos. The main killers are betting websites whereby credit is given to you first.
We have to blame them, for the open up they "pandora box"..it is exactly what you do & eventually , what you will get this principle..that they lost Aljunied GRC...more will come for they will have to pay the price...
