Know of one Special Constable chap.. Served his NS with the Police Force..

Good diligent NSF who was really interested in a career with the Poodles Force after his NS.. Few weeks after he finished his NS, he tried to sign on with them.. His superiors provided the application papers and a recommendation..

He obtained a Very Good remarks on his NS Certificate of Service.. But few weeks after sending his application papers to Police HQ, he received a letter saying his application was unsuccessful due to him having only 2 O' Level credits..

And so it continues. All this wayang about whether society accepts this or rejects that.
And asking society to give feedback on the goodies to be included in the 50th birthday package.
With this regular crowdsourcing for ideas, maybe these guys salaries should be cut by half?
Afterall, they are not even thinking now about their jobs - just thinking how to keep their jobs.

Having foreigners serving as the country's policemen....which other country has this practice? Or is this another uniquely sinkie invention again.

A jiuhukia I know from poly served at cantonment in the 90s as a PR while we were conscripted. I heard he signed on for 2 contracts periods while using polis benefits to get a degree and got out.

I also remember newpaper article many years back on an angmogao who in the polis band performing in ndp. There already foreigners in polis since hitler was a corporal, only that not in great numbers.

I think polis aka MHA sibeh boliao. Reject ppl because of lack of education for its regular forces yet try to con reservists who dun even complete secondary education by using the inspector rank as a bait to get them to extend their reservist period at the 10th year.

The next step is to form a Pinoy Constabulary to guard the prime areas of Orchard Road/Scotts Road and Tanglin Road as there are mainly Tagalog speakers there.

Only the Gurkhas ...and the reason is obvious. The ministers can't trust the locals to protect them. And they chose the Gurkhas because of the reputation of loyalty. Why didn't they hire angmos or pinoys?

We train and arm the foreigners, sinkees will be toast. As the foreigners' first loyalty is to their people. Give them the arms, they will shoot sinkees first in a clash of the foreigners and sinkees.

One Gurkha can take on 50 policemen, so it will take thousands of poodles to handle an insurrection by the Gurkhas.

Don’t even think about it! Don’t be naïve! When PAP opened the flood gate for FT, the same they were thinking like you that there will be fair play. But hell no!
