So all Charbors in Sinkieland must wear like that so that other people cannot take photo of them? Good siah .... Akbar Allah!
It needs not come to such a situation, and even that situation is a FAILURE, as it is the EYES that are unique - the brows, the shape, the length between the eyes. etc, that would give a person away....such are how criminals are caught as well as is how AI and security cameras distinguishes one from another.
Do allow me to share an experience-
a) The insignificant nobody me once took to photography during my free time. I bought the best Nikon camera that was available and spent countless hours taking pics of Nature, rain or shine, crouched in m&d and sweat in our Nature Reserves, just to get a perfect picture. As it was a public space, there were many others whom visits such sites.
b) As I appreciate Nature's beauty, invariably, a beautiful woman would come into my sight, and I would not hesitate to take a pic of her too...I am not perfect but flawed, like every other mortal...
c) However, thanks to advances in Technology, I realized that my efforts were wasted, as even a simple computer software program such as Photoshop can do wonders on even a poor image - upscaling, rectifying pixels, etc, etc, let ALONE today's AI tech that can NOT only manipulate a simple photograph, but EVEN extend a mere image purposes, not just color, but even talking in one's own natural voice and movements in VIDEO.......thus the MANY, MANY fake images and videos that proliferates Internet.....
d) I gave up, and the Nikon camera gathers in dust....
Singapore is a Rule of Law Nation. There is NO need to cover up like foolish Muslims whom think they can protect womanhood, their mothers, sisters and love ones. Enforcement of a stupid rule like banning photography would be tough to enforce and would require a far FAR bigger govt and far FAR bigger tax revenues to pay for such foolish notions.
1. Taking photos is not a crime. The only crime is WHEN ONE DISTRIBUTES it WITHOUT consent of the photographed, more so photographs of Humans.
2. Understand how Tech works, even AI. While a mere photo can be extrapolated into many means, either for good on personal use grounds, or for bad, either for profit or nefarious motivations, what AI DOES is just using another image within the confines of public cyber space data to replace whatever that is missing from the original photo, thus what it renders out in image or video, ARE NOT REAL, and can be EASILY disputed or debunked by evidences.
3. For women whom dislike being photographed, there are still ways to beat AI - by covering up the eyes with sunglasses, or a hygienic face mask, and the AI will only throw up fake images.
Thus no need for womanhood to cover up like the foolish and downtrodden Muslim women whom are sadly, treated as chattels by even their own loved ones, which is AGAINST the very last sermon of prophet Muhammad....
4. Ultimately, it is often about SOCIAL ETIQUETTE in Public space, such as mansplaining - over extension of one's leg in one's space that creates problems for others with the same equal space meant, turning on the volume of one's handphone loudly within share spaces such as cafes, buses, MRTs, library, etc, etc,..
If our SPF is required to respond to each and every discomfort, then they will have no time to resolve far more critical issues such as crime, and may need far more tax revenues from taxpayers to meet each and every need of citizens, sane or the insane.
Perhaps it may be the job of service providers to set down rules and regulations, not harshly but educationally thru simple motivating words or pictures displayed within their premises so that there can be NO DOUBT of SOCIAL ETIQUETTE standards and expectations in our Singapore Civilization, regardless if one is a blue blooded citizen or a new foreign worker under Employment Pass privilege.....
