The Nigerian senate is considered as a rubber stamp chamber, It simply approves whatever the executive sends to them without real debate, scrutiny or resistance. It a weak separation of powers, poor legislative independence, failure of checks and balances, there's executive dominance, decline in democratic accountability.

Rarely blocks executive bills
Speeds through budgets without deep scrutiny
Confirms ministers and appointees easily
Rarely challenges executive overreach

Climataclysm​

Three cyclones happened simultaneously across South and Southeast Asia this week, the latest of several huge storms that have battered the region, killing at least 1,350 people, with hundreds more still missing and millions displaced. Unusually destructive storms hit harder in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand, with some specialists blaming climate change
