Why is there no representative from the Lee clan? Without a Lee in the mix the forum lacks credibility and substance.

They can nominate John Tan, who will gladly volunteer.

There should be a rep from the biggest non-partisan group in Singapore, the People's Association. Without a PA rep, this FOS group lacks credibility.

How do you know any of the current members are not people's association or former people's association. Don't underestimate.

As you can tell it is a very carefully picked lot and nearly all of them have stood up to this government in way or another. All have excelled in their respective field. 4 have been ISA detainees and one has a conviction. They all have mellowed to be able to address issues in a sane and organised manner.

The only issue is that they have chosen to be non-partisan and therefore have had to accept things from the likes of Tan Wah Piow and his very close acolyte known by the pseudonym “Ghui”.

Their challenge is not to end up like Function 8 and the 4 does not up to be a 6 and we all see a re-run of May 1987.

The gatekeepers in the form of Tay Kheng Soon, Chua Beng Huat and Kevin Tan with the added support of Yeoh Lam Keong will be crucial and the focus on dialogue, political interaction and the preservation of the forum would be top of mind.

Good point. 2 are related by blood to past PAP MPs and 1 was a former PAP MP. However all 3 have made known their dislike for the PAP or their policies numerous times. Only 1 young chap is aligned to the establishment but he was brought in make up the diversity numbers.

This group is a tough lot and they already are a magnet, drawing interest. Unlike the usual cosmetic and fad lot, read Kirsten Han, Teoh Soh Lung, LGBT, they know what the issues are and what to address and are indeed the biggest threat to the PAP on paper. It will be a matter of time when the blog will be proscribed under Yacob’s changes in law. They will inevitably cripple it like they did Yawning Bread.

This group will very soon be classified as "illegal gathering"....and banned.

These chaps have deep pockets?

They will be much stronger because Yawning Bread is just one man - Alex Au. I'm betting that most of these chaps will be savvy enough to avoid the minefields, including the ones inadvertently stepped on by Alex Au - who it should be noted is very politically and socially savvy by himself (and yet the establishment still found a way to assault him legally).

The Marxist detainees will have to be managed well.

There will certainly be an effort to clamp down on groupings of like minded and politically aware people like these. As for as government is concerned we are still in the dark ages..

Some of them individually but it does not help in this environment as draconian laws on political funding is a sword over their heads as TOC found when Tan Wah Piow sent them funds. The latter knew full well the damage that he will do but his audience is not Singaporeans and therefore he went ahead.
