SaharaReporters days ago reported that bandits terrorising Kaduna State on Thursday night carried out another attack, killing one person and injuring several others.

SaharaReporters learnt that the incident occurred in the Ikara local government area when the assailants blocked Pala-Sayasaya Road.

It was the same place where the bandits struck last Wednesday

A resident of the area confirmed the killing and how the development caused panic following gunshots fired sporadically by the bandits.

The bandits were said to have kidnapped some passersby on motorcycles and taken them away into the forest.

Another source said the bandits stole over 10 motorcycles, seized at gunpoint, following an ambush in the bad terrain area.

"Many of those injured were rushed to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Zaria and also Ikara General Hospital, located in the headquarters of the local government," the source added.

Only days ago, bandits in large numbers kidnapped six farmers while working on their farms in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A source in Birnin Gwari town confirmed the abduction to SaharaReporters which he said occurred on Monday evening.

According to the source, the incident happened in Layin Danauta village in Kuyello Ward of the Birnin Gwari local government.

The source further said the farmers, who are his relations, were working on their beans farm.

At the time of this report, according to the source, only six farmers have been identified, and the number could be higher.
