Ng Chee Meng bro with a last minute equaliser!! Jalan Kayu Andrew in big trouble

Think every Sunday outside church & car parking outside temple given leeway too.
I drive past this church every Sunday, and notice that when the carpark is full, not a single vehicle is parked illegally along the roads around this building. Churchgoers will leave their cars at the nearest URA lots or at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre or Beauty World where they have to pay considerable charges even on Sunday. These carparks are a substantial distance away, and members have to walk under the blazing sun.

Church can write to the authorities for parking outside. Heard something like this before.

My church leaders wrote to the TP many times, but were told that members of the congregation must be reminded that standard parking regulations in S'pore are in effect on Sundays as well.

Fuck is so commonly uttered by Singaporeans until it is considered normal and lacking in sting. So fuck it!

More like the Tyranny of the Minority .
Muslims are the only motorists who get to park their vehicles illegally anywhere they wish within walking distance to their mosques every Friday without fear of a fine. My church leaders wrote to the TP many times, but were repeatedly told that members of the congregation must be reminded that standard parking regulations in S'pore are in effect on Sundays as well.

Cant the TP be well liked by the people? It's not good to have double standard for next time it will be another treatment for another unspoken rule.

Not sure how long does a Muslim prayer takes ... compare to a Christian session
Anyway this parking is a long standing "culture" ? ... or this is minority privileges ?
Nobody wants to go poke the hornet's nest, imagine what will happen do when they return & saw ticket summon

NG CHEE BY still has not come clean for trying to sell NTCU assets to foreign Company. He should be verbally fXK by Andre Low multiple times.

Hopefully, they won't plant a bomb at the Traffic Police HQ.

Friends from other churches also confirmed that their leaders informed them not to illegally park during services because the TP refused to grant any exemption even for Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. If the official line is that parking regulations in S'pore are in effect everyday of the year, will the TP officer on the ground dare to make his own exemption on the aforementioned days and every Sunday?

The Friday or Jumu'ah prayer, typically lasts between 40 - 60 minutes. A typical Christian service is between 60 - 120 minutes. It may seem like the exemption from illegal parking fines on Fridays is a "minority privilege", but then again, aren't Christians another minority with less than 20% of the SG population following the faith?

Since when we have memory ... Friday Prayers are somehow "allowed" to park, because no parking warden have ever come to issue summon ticket ?
Maybe the parking warden are doing the Friday prayers themselves ?
We will never know the reason why they have this "approval" & the rest of us somehow get used to the situation.

There is a mosque near my office. Every Friday when I walk past for lunch, I notice several Certis and TP officers onsite to direct traffic around the illegally parked cars, but never to issue summonses.

I was a recipient of a parking ticket many years ago outside my church during a Sunday service, after thinking that a waiver on Fridays also applies to Sundays. The church carpark was full on that day. I have never illegally parked again after I discovered that not all religions in S'pore are treated equally.

Billion-dollar money laundering case: Man who jumped off balcony gets 14 months' jail

Su Haijin is the second of 10 offenders arrested during police raids last August to be convicted

The court heard that on the day of the raids on Aug 15, a team of police officers arrived at Su's residence at 16 Ewart Park and identified themselves to his eldest son.

The son later led them to the bedroom, but the door was closed and locked. The son asked Su to come to the door, but Su did not do so. Instead he asked his son who the men with him were.

The team of officers identified themselves and asked Su to open the door, warning him that they would breach the door to enter. They did so eventually but could not find Su.

Investigations later revealed that Su had jumped from the second-floor balcony to the ground floor. He fractured both feet and injured his wrist, but managed to hobble down a flight of steps and escape through a side gate.

He hid in a drain where he was later found and arrested.

About S$170 million worth of assets consisting of cash, vehicles and luxury items were seized from Su.

Separately, Su was the director and sole shareholder of Yihao Cyber Technologies, whose business was listed as the development of software and applications.

Investigations showed that the company, incorporated on Jan 3, 2017, did not have legitimate operations in Singapore. Even though it had a registered address in the Marina area, Su only used the address to receive mail. The premises were occupied by another company.

Su used Yihao Cyber Technologies to open corporate bank accounts with OCBC, DBS and UOB.

Su was first issued with an employment pass by Ministry of Manpower for his role as a CEO of Yihao Cyber Technologies on Aug 29, 2017.

Investigations found that the revenue declared in the company's financial statements for the financial years (FY) 2019 to 2022 were fictitious. Between 2019 and 2022, Su conspired with Wang from LW Business Consultancy to prepare false documents, including financial statements and business agreements.

Yihao Cyber Technologies’ financial statement for FY2021 was submitted to banks DBS, UOB and OCBC and also used to obtain further renewals of Su's employment pass and other official purposes.

In 2021, the company received S$2,396,943.20 in its OCBC account from an overseas company involved in remote gambling operations. Su claimed the money was from providing IT, website maintenance or development services but there was no evidence to substantiate his claims.

Su later withdrew S$2,348,251.25 from this account and dissipated the sum into the DBS and UOB accounts.

By the time of his arrest, only around S$1.4 million was seized from the DBS and UOB accounts.
