Malaysian husband + Singaporean wife wanting to rent in JB. Advice??​

Hi all, really hoping to hear from people who've been in a similar situation.

So here's our situation, my husband is Malaysian working in Singapore, I'm Singaporean (converted, so no family home to fall back on here). We're married, on the BTO waitlist, and honestly just want our own space while we wait. Maybe start a family too.

But we're having a really bad situation with our current landlord and need to move out ASAP. Renting in Singapore is insane right now and is just a small room, so we started thinking, why not JB?

But we have some concerns and would love to hear from anyone who's done this:

Is there any issue with a Singaporean crossing daily into MY for everyday? I heard MY custom will ban us from entering?

Of course this is not forever. Now just wanted a quick solution. Would really appreciate any advice from couples or commuters who've done this. Thanks so much!
