1) Reduce to 1 ICT for only half a week. If NSmen are so loyal beyond loyal, then they can do 1 month of ICT. The rest can do three days.

2) Not just make up pay. Pay to NSmen must be equal to regulars plus company pay and profit losses pay to the company.

3) Ns units to have only 3 year cycle. 10 years is way too much.

4) End RT. It is a punishment and biggest strain

5) IPPT failures acceptable. Bet you CCS cannot even pass IPPT so why torture the average Ah Kow?

6) Sell excess military equipment. Why keep M-16s when you have your (lousy) SAR-21s?

7) Reduce number of NS and regular units. Army can have only three divisions not 5.

8) Air Force ICT can be only once a year. Same with Navy.

9) Why the heck does Singapore need submarines and so many stealth frigates?

10) Do not promote so many to BG grade. Captain or even LTA will do.

NS is BIG business, and its not just for the GLCs e.g. ST Logistics, NCS, SFI.

Those of you who have went for overseas training in Taiwan, Thailand, Australia etc, you know that you generate business for the locals there. Money is the key reason why such defence arrangements exist.

Even the act of flying to those places, the booking of air tickets, is very expensive. It's like organized tour groups of young men.

At the end of the day, it's just business. You pay me, I pay you. Nothing to do with patriotism really.
