first i dun believe everything i see on the internet
second it look silly to do that in real life
thirdly, the hot air is coming towards the person who is opening and closing the door, which mean he will feel hotter.

When the interior of car heated by the sun, not just the air is hot, everything inside get hot, removing hot air alone is possible will not solved the problem. The solution is to remotely activated air con before you get into the car.

must try first. i think it might be possible. the temp measure is ambient, beside seats in the car are not really a good conductor and they might not be as hot as the air inside

Thanks for the clip. Must try one of these days. Usually it is the hot air inside that is unbearably hot. From the explanation, the left window opening is for cooler air from outside to go in while the hot air gets out from the right side by opening the door 5 times. What if we try to lower the left side windows for both front and back seat. Wonder if the front and rear interior air space will be displaced with cooler air more evenly. :)

It actually depends on the type of car you own. If it is a very large car you might have to do more times. It is the air that is hot, not so much the seats as the sun heats the air through the glass windows and the roof. The hot air cannot escape as it is sealed and air tends to rise when heated. Pushing and pulling the air replaces the hot air inside quickly. Opening more windows will not help as having only one window open you create the suction when pulling and air pressure when pushing.

It also helps to drive with the windows slightly open and wait for the air conditioner to cut in and start the cooling process before closing the windows fully.

Switching the air conditioner before entering the car as Singveld mentioned is not good as the hot air will take a long time to cool. It is much better to remove the hot air before switching the air conditioner.
