The teen girl, who cannot be named, was a Secondary 3 student when they met in 2010.
Shanurfahmi told her that he was going to divorce his wife, and they would have sex at his home and in a tent at East Coast Park.
In 2011, the teenager got pregnant and later aborted the five-month-old baby.
In court, District Judge Low Wee Ping, who noted that Shanurfahmi already had a child born out of wedlock, pointed out the trauma caused to the girl due to the unwanted pregnancy and abortion.
The judge said the law had to be "very severe, not only to serve as a deterrence, but also to protect young girls like this victim", Channel NewsAsia reported.
