Nana Disco - Yet Another Staring Incident Leading to Likely Death

Why do guys fight and even kill over staring? Just look away and walk away will do, no? It's just a look and stare, why must make it a fight or worse?

A stare is an aggressive, imitidating and overpowering weapon against someone you don't like. It's not like men gazing and oogling at pretty women. However, bear in mind that a stare has no effect on insects as in another thread and earlier post, SibeiKing suggested. Staring at an insect is idiotic. Most insects have almost 360-degree vision ongoing and they don't stare or stare back to get the message. There's no time to stare them into submission. Just take a slipper and whack it flat.

The Thai disco in Central Mall where a full-time national serviceman was attacked last Saturday has been on the radar of the police for some time now.

The Secret Societies Branch (SSB) of the Criminal Investigation Department, in a rare interview, identified the Central Mall-Central Square area as a 'problematic' spot.

Enforcement checks are common in the entertainment outlets in these two areas, said SSB head Tan Yong Hong.

Clarke Quay and Boat Quay, home to many nightspots, are also under the unit's watchful eye.

Damage control.

Just last nite, I was on a bus. And there was this bunch of students (looked like Upper sec or JC level) who refused to move in altho there was ample space. At first, I thot maybe they intended to alight, so I decided to move past them and into the rear of the bus. It was not the case, as they also took the bus to the terminus with me. They simply hang around the door and in fact were playing the fool with each other, much to the oblivion of other passengers.

The way youths behave nowadays, I'll say they deserve to stare and stab each other to death, and the police should just stand by and arrest the last man standing.

If they had been watching the place, then why did the incident occur?
That may have been their objective, but may have achieved the opposite effect.

Honestly, there was nothing SSB could do about this case. Incident wasn't planned. No way to be alerted through informers.

Incident took place at carpark. Was told wasn't staring incident. Deceased playfully tap on vehicle or something like that. Challenge here and there and then fight took place. No one expected the victim to mati from assault without weapons.

One runroad north. The other hiding in S'pore.

The behaviour of kids these days is atrocious.
The worst part is that these kids by and large are not from rich families, and will not have their parents' money to help them when they become adult bums. Conmen, prostitutes and other criminals will be the result.
On a national level, SG's reputation as a place which produces "professionals with integrity" will soon be eroded if this trend continues.

Looks likely to be another rioting case again.
Murder to them is someone has a lovers' or money dispute, goes home and thinks about it, and then kills the person they know.
These crimes of many people attacking and killing one or fewer person can be even more heinous, simply because the victim could be just a playful or even innocent passer-by.
They are also more likely to be recurring.

For this case, my hunch is they will all be charged under section 325 - voluntarily causing grievous hurt (VCGH). 0%chance murder charge. 95% VCGH, 5% chance rioting.

I read some other account that the deceased refused to move away when the car was leaving the car park and was quite guai lan. Then again he looks more decent compared to the guy that killed him. Purple hair and heavily tattooed.

I have a theory why these types of crimes are treated relatively lightly compared to the "premeditated murder by known person" or even firing a weapon during a robbery or kidnapping type cases.
It's the "it would not happen to us" theory.
Those people in power think that they and their families are unlikely to encounter this type of crimes. And so the numbers and the severity increase as time goes by.
