Nail-clipping driver busted

A BUS driver in Singapore was subjected to disciplinary action after he was found clipping his fingernails while driving the bus, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The irresponsible act was captured by a passenger who uploaded the video on the Internet.

The video showed the driver of the SMRT bus driving along the highway towards Woodlands.

While driving, he suddenly looked at his fingernails, then took out a nail clipper with his right hand and spent some 20 seconds clipping his fingernails.

The video was shared over 700 times and netizens blasted the driver for his rash act that could have caused a road accident.

SMRT says it will discipline a bus driver after he was caught on video clipping his fingernails at the wheel.

According to a report in The Straits Times, the video was posted online on July 25, raising concerns about the safety of his driving.

In the 28-second video, the unnamed driver is seen resting his left hand on the steering wheel while trimming his nails with a nail clipper with his right.

At one point, he takes both hands off the steering wheel to examine his nails as the bus continues to move along the expressway.

The Straits Times understands that he was the driver of bus service number 858, which had been travelling towards Woodlands from Changi Airport at the time.
