Straits Times interview scripted in advance says 1MDB whistleblower

The Straits Times carried a scripted interview of Xavier Justo, the 1MDB whistleblower, who was then jailed in Thailand, according to a report published by The Edge Singapore.

But last week, after the Najib Razak government was ousted, Justo gave an interview to The Edge.

In the interview, Justo said that he was blackmailed by former PetroSaudi executives into, amongst other things, giving the interview to Straits Times Bangkok-based reporter Nirmal Ghosh, which was scripted.

This fake news thing is all bullshit. Newspapers themselves started sensationalising reports to garner readership improvement as part of their ongoing actvities. The ST itself fabricates fake news. No need to point fingers at anybody else (back in 1977, ST made up fake news in reports about ,motorcycling in Singapore claiming riders "supercharged" their machines. Fact is, nowhere in the world did there exist a supercharged motorbike until 1979 when Kawasaki unleashed the turbocharged GPz 750, ST just made that up in order to justify continued police crackdown on illegal motorbike racing on public roads.

Cheers!
