You uncle really don't know how to steal eat & got caught, typical 70%...last time, we steal eat, with the farmers sugar cane in ROC, we cut stem very carefully, cover back part stolen for eat with the outer skin. By the time, farmer's sugar cane, dry & drop over..we are all , long gone. No wonder your uncle got caught..'steal sugar canes,' make so much noises....typical 70%.
