The police have been called multiple times over a man blasting loud music early every morning at a Jurong East coffee shop, but that hasn't stopped him.

Stomper Amy, who lives near the coffee shop, said it was been going on for a year.

"Every morning at 5am, this uncle would come to Block 253 Jurong East Street 24 and play super duper loud music," said the Stomper.

"We, the neighbours, have tried to talk to him nicely numerous times and explained to him that others are still sleeping. Other neighbours have also quarrelled with him and scolded him."

The police would be called.

"But after the police left, he would start playing the music again very loudly, like a DJ at a club. The police said they could only advise. They could not do anything," lamented the Stomper.
Despite this, on May 25, she once more called the police, who arrived at about 6.20am.

"The uncle told the police the radio didn't belong to him when he actually not only got a radio, he also had a speaker with him," recounted the Stomper.

"After the police left at about 6.40am, the uncle started blasting the music again and even boasted to the stallholders nearby that the police cannot do anything to him.

"The police were called again by a shop owner. But the uncle immediately turned off the music after he saw the police car. This was close to 7am when the police arrived the second time.

"Then a resident went and tried to reason with the mad music-playing uncle, telling him not to be a nuisance. There was a lot of colourful language."

The Stomper said: "I cannot remember exactly how many times we've called the police. My sister and I would take turns to call now. We called so many times till we lost count. It has just become daily routine: uncle comes and blasts music, we wake up and call the police.

"The last time we called was May 28 at 5.20am."

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that a report was lodged.

The Stomper hopes that the man's family members would stop him from being a public nuisance.

She asked: "How would he or his family feel if we do the same thing to him by going to his home at odd hours and blast music too?"
