My top 3 best Nasi Padang in SG

The nonyas boil buah jee-leng with metal nails to rid off the bitterness.

They serve it coated with grated coconut & palm sugar as a dessert.

I love to eat lots of petai in sambal udang and buah jee-leng for my dessert.
Can tell me more about the dessert? got pictures? wah, 1st time I heard use Jengkol as dessert... LOL

This is how Nasi Padang is traditionally served.

Do you know that in Padang, and in some parts of Indonesia, they use ganja for cooking and to make the food extra delicious. And of course the craving to come back!

More like poppy seeds? yes, some do, I agree, LOL

Rasa Istemewa Nasi Padang near CPIB building. That rocks and cheap.

Agree. One of the best but always long queue. Spotted several friends there in the past. They were there either before or after being called to "White House" for statements to assist in investigation.

The stall at Havelock/River Valley, opposite Great World City is quite good.

They were previously located along River Valley Rd. SecCom, then known as Security Branch, always tapau from there. Some other enforcement agencies too.

Near Neil Road/Spottiwoode park side or Eu Tong Seng side? I'll check it out someday, thanks

Not saying they are no good, but their food are more to the Malay style, definitely not Indo style

How about Ivin's?

Fucking awesome fish head curry there!

The one at River Valley Road is owned by my former colleague at Prudential. He drives a Lancer Evo the last I know. I haven't been there for some ten years as it's quite out of the way for me. During Prudential days, we went there quite often. The food is certainly Malay style, not Indon style, but good enough to earn a fortune.

On my way to Geylang Serai and try Sinar Pagi, hope it's nice

I just went to eat at Sinar Pagi, overall its good, but to the Malay style, its definitely better than River Valley Nasi Padang.

I ordered deng deng with tapioca leave curry, and a bowl of soup buntut. deng deng was ok, tapioca is good, very flavourful cox they cooked it with anchovies, the soup buntut is too thick, too beefy and too much spices (cardamon, cloves and cinnamon stick), like drinking mutton soup from the Indians, not fully oxtail parts, they dunno put what kind of meat parts inside also. Chilli not spicey, both green and red. damage, $9

I also ordered 2 fried chicken with bumbu (people think this is coconut flakes, but original bumbu is ginger fibres after being pounded with fennels and then fried), the bumbu is good, damage $7

Really expensive..... nevertheless, its still passable to me.
