In order to cut costs, Smrt will even endanger lives of thousands of commuters by ignoring security. Imagine if some terrorist went in to sabotage the trains or plant a bomb? Heads must roll for this serious breach.

Not to worry lah and pull your hair until you become botak! I think costs will be increased and easily passed on to the commuters.

Remember the project to install CCTV cameras in all stations ? Until now though the expenses may be badgeted for but not implemented, or at least those that can record 24/7, SMRT can just justify to implement same project for all depots, but just shifting the depllyment of the cameras.

Then declared costs increase and hence justified to increase fares for the sake of security.

A case of pressing the air in a balloon to shift the air around ?

Just wait and see.

Since the Dfs butch has taken over as Ceo, Smrt is only concerned with increasing retail space for more rental income. Screw passenger safety and comfort.
Just take the example of platform barriers. After so many cases of suicides, barriers aren't even up for all stations. But you bet Smrt has marked out all the shop space for 7-11, old chang kee, bangawan solo etc.
