A friend of mine had a heart attack last month. He used to be a jovial fellow with a happy go lucky attitude. Lately we noticed a change in him, instead of his cheerful self, he seems depressed, looks terrible like he's really stressed. When I talked to him he apologized that he has been cutting back on our kaki drink sessions as finances is tight. His car is old but he cannot afford to change. So he tries to cut back by taking more public transport. He has to leave his house 45 mins earlier and fight with the crowd to work. Same coming back. Worse he works in the manufacturing sector which is doing badly. No increment for him this year and with roaring inflation, he has to cut back even more. All these has taken a toll on him and I am not surprised he kanna heart attack. Just wondering what is the national rate for high blood pressure and heart attacks. It got to be high living in this high pressure cauldron!

Go to spa for a nice rubdown with hot steam/sauna to release tensions.

I am also stressed out in Sinkapoor.. having to
Queue up long long queue to eat in restaurant
Challenge other car to setoff earlier to prevent jam
Go bank to wihdraw cash have to queue and queue

Fucktard, LKY can get a heart attack for all I care at least the despot would not get a bigger heart attack when the hospital bill comes.

At most he'll pay just $8!

the real culprit could well be our own diet :o:o:o

lianbeng adds: and lifestyle habits! :D match what u eat with what u do! if u have good healthy diet but no exercise just sitting in front of pc 24/7 also can die!

Kaki drink sessions eh? With plenty of fried finger food to accompany the drinks?

He had it coming.

You can indulge once in a while, but you must exercise.
By exercise I mean...
Sprinting, not brisk walking.
Timed swimming, not leisurely dip in the pool.
Compound exercises in the gym, not taichi.

The only stress LKY has is when he misplaces his knuckle-duster and has to look for it.

Correction : the most the despot gets close to a heart attack is when his daughter in-law lost another few billions of the hard earned money of the common folks.

And it ain't even his money that he played with to begin with!

I don't think it is due to the kaki drinking sessions or to exercise. Couple of years back when things r more relaxed, he was drinking (moderate) with us and he occasionally jogged. I am very sure his heart attack was caused by recent events... Like taking public transport and increased stress from home, work and generally caused in Singapore.

Nowadays, people just kick the bucket unexpectedly, just like Ah Nan.Stress weakens your immune system.

Your friend must be a meat eater.

his heart attack is caused by years of bad diet habits such as meat eating. it has nothing to do with stress or what.

Stress might caused high blood pressure or even heart attack but without the basis of bad dieting habits as the contributing factor, his heart attack will never surface.

Nothing to do with stress. Drinking was what killed him.

Had he done an hour's exercise daily instead of wasting his time and money on alcohol, he'd still be around today.

[TD][h=4]Excessive alcohol consumption[/h]You may have heard that alcohol – particularly red wine – is good for your heart. But drinking too much of any type of alcohol can increase your blood pressure and contribute to the development of heart disease and stroke.
There is some evidence that moderate drinkers have a somewhat lower risk of heart disease and stroke than those who do not drink or who drink excessively. However, if you really want to have an impact on your heart health, you're better off eating a healthy diet, being physically active by doing moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic activity for 150 minutes a week, and becoming smoke-free.

I think he's still alive.
