A witness who declined to be identified said that he heard a loud explosive noise, which he initially thought was from firecrackers.

He then saw a black Honda Accord with heavily-tinted windows crash into a road divider.

That looks like a very good tint he fixed on that car. Probably smash proof. The bullets probably slowed down the velocity of the initial bullets considerably.

He survived mainly because his car was armored limousine, and class was bullet proof.

That killer did not have good enough armor piercing ammunitions.

But many repeated shot at a same tiny spot on the bullet proof glass can eventually break a hole after closely shooting at a same spot gradually weakening it round by round. To do that you have to be very close or very sharp shooter (sniper) or else the shots landed all over the larger area on the glass will take a thousand rounds to break. The idea is bullet proof glass buy you time to flee from shooting. You won't easily die from the 1st few shots of normal bullets, you get alert and step on gas to flee out of sight from shooter.

There is something called armor piercing ammunitions. And they are meant to go through e.g. half inch of armor steel plates, And only very thick heavy bullet proof glass can take a few shots. Dotard Trump's limousine window glass is 5 inches and close to 100kg per piece for this reason.

Cellphone dealer in Malaysia shot at more than 10 times by lone gunman

BUKIT MERTAJAM (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - It was like any other Saturday morning (May 26) for cellphone dealer Tan Yi Chin.

After having breakfast with a friend at a food court, the 23-year-old was on his way back to his house in Machang Bubok.

But it was not the usual Saturday for Tan because as he stopped at a red light in Jalan Kulim near Taman Sentosa, a lone gunman suddenly walked up and unleashed a hail of bullets at his car.

Wounded on his right shoulder, right hand and body, Tan managed to escape from the left side of his Honda Accord.

The gunman is believed to have fled after the shooting.

Penang police chief Commissioner Datuk A. Thaiveegan said the 11.15am incident occurred at a busy traffic light junction in Jalan Kulim.

"The victim is in stable condition. We've formed a task force to investigate the case from all angles," he said.

Central Seberang Prai OCPD Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the assailant wore a ski mask and fired more than 10 shots.

ACP Nik Ros said Tan, who had a record for running an illegal entertainment outlet, was not a VIP, as reported earlier.

"We recovered 11 bullet casings at the scene. I believe that a semi-automatic pistol was used.

"We will view any footage of CCTVs in the vicinity to try and identify the suspect," he said.

The case is being probed under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

Armour piercing munitions are not suitable for hand guns, which was used in this case. You will need long guns for the job.

yes, 10mm is better. I thought the gunman was using .22LR until I saw the casing. Looks like 9mm.
daresay that even a 357 high velocity mag would've done the job with less than the 9 shots taken. many in sea use the 9mm as it's cheaper with less recoil resulting in a botched job unless directly like the recent iranian by mossad

agree kakpoh, the honda not amoured and the heavily tinted glass would've deflected some of the rounds. btw, your sig p224 just good enuff for self-def against someone trying to screw you and your screws

don't think the scrawny gunman can handle a 357 mag. I just assume he is scrawny  .
