A SECURITY guard was charged on Friday with trying to get a bribe of $1,500 from each of two brothers in return for not reporting them for working without valid work permits. Gogilen Tolasi, 23, a Malaysian and employed by Legend Security Services, allegedly tried separately to get the bribe from Mr Kerk Cheng Hong and Mr Kerk Cheng Siong at a unit in The Hillside Condominium in Upper Bukit Timah Road where he was deployed. The brothers were believed to be doing renovation work at the time. He will appear in court again on Dec 11. If found guilty, he can be fined up to $100,000 and/or jailed for up to five years on each charge.
