A man has filed a negligence suit against local nightspot Bar None for more than $140,000, after a tile in the bar allegedly fell and hit his head almost four years ago.
Mr Tang Da-Yan, 32, who works in a bank, ended up with a 1cm laceration on the top of his head.
Less than three weeks later, he suffered a sudden severe headache that landed him in hospital again.
This was caused by a leak in an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) that doctors found in his head.
Mr Tang alleged that the leak was triggered when he was hit in the bar by the falling tile.
Bar None, located at the basement of Marriott Hotel in Orchard Road, is denying the allegations.
It has named its renovation contractor, Refine Construction, as a third party to the action. But the contractor is also rebutting the allegations of negligence.
