recently saw some ex colleagues and friends of LTK advertised on chinese newspaper to congratulate LTK in winning Aljunied GRC. share one story with all of you. last time when LTK just got elected as Hougang MP, 3 of his teaching colleagues advertised on chinese newspaper to congratulate him, all 3 teachers were invited to drink kopi in isd. i think at last were released, but dunno were detained for how long. :oIo:

SINGAPORE: A group of business owners has taken out an advertisement in a Chinese-language newspaper, congratulating the Workers' Party on its performance in the recent General Election.

The advertisement, which appeared on Page 2 of ZB on Sunday - the Sunday edition of Lianhe Zaobao - congratulated WP's Aljunied team of party chief Low Thia Khiang, party chairman Sylvia Lim, Mr Chen Show Mao, Mr Muhamad Faisal Manap and Mr Pritam Singh, and Hougang Member of Parliament (MP) Yaw Shin Leong, as well as new Non-Constituency MPs Yee Yenn Jong and Gerald Giam.

TODAY contacted one of those whose name appeared in the congratulatory advertisement. Declining to be quoted for this news report, he said that he contributed to the cost of the advertisement as a gesture of appreciation to the opposition party for using their services.

Others who contributed to the advertisement include a florist, several senior citizens and residents' grassroots organisations from Hougang, and a paper products company. - TODAY

I've been looking forward to this evening. Aljunied is our home and we look forward to making our home even better for every one of us.

The Aljunied MPs begin our Meet-the-People sessions this week. I belong to a dedicated and enthusiastic team. I know Aljunied will be well served. Mr Low has set the bar for us in his 20 years as Hougang's MP.

I will listen very intently and offer my views and assistance. I hope to do more, though. I hope to work together with the residents to find solutions to the problems that we face here in Aljunied, so that we all feel more empowered to make a difference in our lives.

阿裕尼的人民是我們的衣食父母。為他們服務是我們最基本、最核心、最重要的工作，我們一定會把它做好。

At our first MPS, many came with their good wishes, some even brought us flowers, banners, pictures, chrysanthemum tea and kindly-thought-of flax oil. On our void deck, the tables and chairs were set up expertly, and the process flowed smoothly, thanks to our many volunteers. There was still a great deal of waiting around by the residents, which we hope to reduce in the future with the help of more volunteers. A resident had too much to drink and grew boisterous, but managed to tell us most of his woes.

LKY wanted WP candidates to spare LHL some mercy in parliament and don't make his son malu. Since he is no longer in parlament and his son is a retard, trying to befriend his enemy is the best option. There is no other option. Besides, no PAP candidate is on par with Chen Sao Mao calibre, that worries LKY too because within PAP controlled systems lived plenty of worms, so a group of WP capable hunters will be there to dig it out for the world to see.

Dear Soon Chow,

Thanks for coming to my first MPS and giving me the opportunity to learn about you and what you care about.

While you may not feel it yet, the future of our country is in your hands and those of other young Singaporeans. What life will be like for us, how we will live with our neighbors, how we will feel about ourselves, will more and more depend on the decisions you make -- on what you do and how you live.

Sounds like a big responsibility, a great load, doesn't it -- not just a load of something..., but a load in itself. And there is really no getting around it or away from it -- we have the power to affect the lives of the people around us.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun, of course. I plan to. And I think I'd be fine if I just remember to use my head, have a heart and have courage.

AIyah. I know what happened here. Senile old goat came to this event, and was shuffling along looking for his table. Saw this table got a lot of seats available and sat down. Skali it turns out to be the WP table. But his old decrepit body could not vacate the seat fast enough when he found out, so to save face, he just smile and take picture with them. After this pic was taken, LTK told him to fuck off back to his own table mah.
