This insignificant moron is the president of FAS and has been so for many years. He is also a mayor which comes with a $50k per month price tag on top of his $15K per month MP allowance. He also collects paychecks as Director, NTUC Care & Share and as Executive Secretary, Education Services Union. He has been an MP since 2001. :eek:

The Mayor post is a joke. Firstly unlike most mayoral post around the World, this one is a political appointment and not elected. The people have no stake in him. Secondly it has not distinct defined role and responsibility. Even the President of a social club like SCC has to campaign, is elected and has responsibility or he will be kicked out by an EOGM. The responsibility that the role has can be done by reasonably paid admin.

You could put the late Ah Meng in that role and nothing would change. Except that people would enjoy watching the Ah Meng and it will be delight for the kids.

Singapore is so small, we could do without a president, a prime minister, and so many MPs in parliament.

Follow the City of London's model, have a democratically elected Lord Mayor. Every year a new Lord Mayor is selected.

I opine Ganesan was our best. No others came close. MBT and HPK were ordinary. This current Mat is the worst. Political reason for him to be at FAS.
