In a way the old man is gone. He's not in the cabinet anymore.

But I can still take issue with what dredd said -

1. How do you know that the end hasn't already begun? And how do you know that the beginning of the end hasn't already taken place with the GE 2011?
2. What if, as is currently expected, there will be a multi-corner fight at Punggol East? Then PAP will keep the seat.

In life, nothing is final. If the PAP loses the Punggol East, it is a tremendous setback, but they can bounce back from it.

Similarly, any opposition party who runs for Punggol East and loses their deposit in the process can still bounce back.

The only thing that's final is that LKY will die one day, probably soon.
