Police carrying out investigations with the 4WD by the roadside in Bandar Utama.

PETALING JAYA - A motorist panicked on seeing two men open fire at a four-wheel drive in Dataran Bandar Utama.

He instinctively stepped on the accelerator and rammed into the men who were on a motorcycle. His actions could have saved the life of a Mongolian woman passenger in the luxury vehicle.

The two assailants had approached the 4WD which was parked by the roadside at about 5.45pm.

The driver, a 35-year-old Sibu businessman, who is a Datuk, was talking on the phone when the assailants started shooting.

At least eight shots were fired at the driver's window. The woman, 26, was hit four times on the shoulder and chest.

The motorist who saw what was happening drove his car at the assailants' motorcycle. The two assailants fell but got on to the vehicle again and rode off.

The businessman was apparently unhurt by the shooting.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said the motive of the attack could be revenge, adding "we are not ruling out anything yet."

He confirmed that the assailants used a semi-automatic 9mm calibre pistol.

The woman is now in intensive care unit of University Malaya Medical Centre.

Thanks to PAP, such menace dare not cross over to the island. This I got to give credit to them.

Unbelievable!!
Datuk, also kena bang bang bang!!

There are too many people being awarded Datukships, to the extent that if a stone is thrown it will hit a Datuk and then rebound and hit another Datuk. - Johor Sultan
