PETALING JAYA: A 60-year-old man was killed at Jalan Bukit Kerayong, Pandamaran, Klang when his vehicle overturned and fell into a drain on Sunday (April 26).

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Lim Jit Huey said police were alerted to a viral video showing several individuals breaking a vehicle’s windscreen and attempting to push it following the incident.

“Initial investigations found that the accident occurred at about 8.30pm on April 26, involving a car driven by a local man in his 60s.

“The victim, who was travelling from Jalan Bukit Kerayong towards Jalan Banting Pandamaran, is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before crashing into a stone structure at the corner of a house by the roadside,” he said in a statement on Monday.

He added that the impact caused the vehicle to overturn onto its side along the edge of a drain.

“Actions by members of the public attempting to move the vehicle resulted in it falling into the drain with the victim still inside,” he said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

ACP Lim said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, as well as classified as a sudden death report (SDR).

“Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident,” he said.

He was still alive but was then killed by the by-standers, they all need to be charged with manslaughter.
