It's NOT about having balls, or criticism of Israel who is our friend & ally, or attempts to gain votes, etc.
It's about PROTECTING ALL multi ethnic Communities living here in Singapore - Singaporeans, Chinesse, Indians, Malays, Jews, etc.
People who post on forums, tik tok or other various social medias, are NOT leaders of State with Responsibilities or acting as such except on their OFFICIAL capacity posts, but only ordinary folks expressing their own opinions & unlikely to have a large following. Those whom are more extreme & have followers will be monitored closely.
However, for an embassy that exists in Singapore, representing their country, it is important that their views are measured carefully.
Singapore's stance is clear - A well known 2 State solution to the Israel-Palestine issue, AND by law, due to the current conflict there, no one here is take sides visibly in public areas, but to discuss & find solutions within their private space peacefully.
Such is NOT appeasement to anyone. The conflict there need NOT be spilled over into Singapore, & is a stance that MAJORITY of nations of Earth are doing the same, except the irresponsible. WE are NOT Israelis or Palestinians, nor are Israelis & Palestinians known as Singaporeans.
As social media is monitored, our govt agencies were QUICK to act, not harshly, but only as a request to the Israeli embassy to remove such posts as it will only endanger themselves & our multi-ethnic society.
Our multi-ethnic communities are relatively calm & peaceful, preferring to work hard to put food on the table for loved ones, but there are MANY other FOREIGN elements that are ACTIVELY seeking out opportunities to achieve their goals to create chaos & destabilize govts & societies Worldwide, & thus in Singapore, nothing is left to chance, to ensure peace & stability here.
