Chitchat MINDEAF asks deceased brother to serve NS, and other PAP stupidity and negligence

[h=1]MINDEF gets trolled by Singaporean for asking his deceased brother to serve NS[/h]
A male Singaporean named “Arp Yorashol” was at the temple one day to pay respects to his family members who have passed on including his brother. His mum then passed him a letter from MINDEF which was addressed to a name similar to his. However, he had no clue what it was about and the letter was dated a few years back.
His mum told him that the letter was addressed to his deceased brother who died 20 years ago.
So, he called the MINDEF hotline the next day to settle the matter and the conversation went like this:

Arp Yorashol: Hello, I received this letter regarding a conscription notice for this person.
Operator: Alright, can I get the NRIC number?
Arp Yorashol: SXXXXXXXX
Operator: Oh, we have sent several letters and if he fails to turn up again, he will be charged in court.
Arp Yorashol: Oh, good luck with that
Operator: It is a serious offence for escaping NS.
Arp Yorashol: Oh, yes… I’m well aware of that. But what I’m saying is, he will not be serving his NS.
Operator: May I ask the reason why?
Arp Yorashol: Don’t you guys have records to this person?
Operator: Yes, we do. It says he is supposed to serve his NS a few years back.
Arp Yorashol: Then I’m sorry to disappoint you. He is unable to serve his NS.
Operator: We have not received any notifications regarding this. He will have to comply to the conditions stated in the letter.
Arp Yorashol: Or else?
Operator: We will issue a warrant for his arrest.
Arp Yorashol: Good luck with that. I hope you guys have contacts to the Ghostbuster.
Operator: I’m sorry?
Arp Yorashol: Well if you’re trying to arrest a dead person, the SPF probably can’t do it. I was from there, I know our capabilities.

Operator: Oh, I am sorry. When did he passed away?
Arp Yorashol: 20 odd years ago.
Operator: I see. We will update our systems
Arp Yorashol: Thank You.

Oh that happens! 3 month after my mom passed on in TTSH, they called up and asked why she didn't come for review and she's due for X-Ray. She was suspected for TB and taken 3 months of medication. It turned out she had lung infections. And they gave the wrong treatment and she died 3 days after admitted. Then they indicated lung cancer in her death cert. How screwed up these sotongs are.

Yes. She was weak but still responsive. They gave her a black pill and next thing, she had seizure and couldn't make it. To them death is an everyday affair. To us it torn our world apart.

My elderly dad was hospitalised due to uncontrollable bowel and he contacted pneumonia in the hospital because they stupidly placed a contagious patient inside his ward.
Though the patient was shifted out to isolated ward the following day, my dad and another patient developed high fever. My dad succumbed to the infection after 12days of treatment for the pneumonia, which he wasn't admitted for in the first place. The Doctors said that he already had fever when admitted and refused to let us see his record. But we wasn't told about initial fever.
Be careful when anyone is admitted. It's always safer to question the Doctors and Nurses. They all tell different things.

Dave ShalomLOL for this make-up story. Two points WHY this won't happen:-
1. NRO will update the "One-Stop" system when SC was registered dead with a Certificate Cause Of Death.
2. MINDEF operator will not said: I see. We will update our system. Govt department won't up verbally without proper legal documents.

Dave Shalom you really believe this is a makeup story. The NRO will update but MINDEF will not update unless they get a copy of death certificate. I got news for you, the family are not obligated to inform MINDEF or give them a copy of death certificate. MINDEF must make the update themselves. If they not happy ask them to sue the family.

I'm wondering if you served NS at all.
Plenty of cockups at Mindef up till today !
I had a friend who ROD same time as me way back in 1977.
He moved house due to land acquisition act. Mindef couldn't locate him for years and during one of the silent mob, I wasn't at home and was served letter to appear for a charge of AWOL from mob.
No case against me as I don't carry pager then for their convenience and happened to see my friend's name, next to it was stated: dead. He didn't report for silent mob as well.
I had a good laugh leaving Maju Camp and called my friend not to entertain any Mindef letters for ICT as he was listed dead.
So yes, I'm the 30% whom you termed stupid, I had the last laugh, what about you ?
Another incident happened to my son for deferment for NS due to studies.
He was sent a letter to answer a charge of not doing his enlistment deferment on time.
How many people got 'f' in Mindef, go check it out my friend !

Yea, the government is efficient in collecting money from us. Anything else, there's always issues. So yea, I believe that this story is legit, as the so-called "Decisive Force" SAF is full of cock ups.
