Mark Lee opens another Old Town outlet at Cineleisure

At the official opening of his fifth Old Town coffeeshop outlet at Cineleisure, local actor-comedian Mark Lee revealed that he hopes to open at least one to two shops each year - until he attains his dream of owning 12 to 15 outlets islandwide. Mark's mentor and co-shareholder, Jack Neo, was present at the shop's opening with local celebrities such as Vivian Lai, Pornsak, Jeremy, Pan Lingling, Hong Huifang, Yvonne Lim, Michelle Tay and many more.

With an expanding business, Mark straightforwardly remarked, "The business is definitely earning, which is why it is expanding." Apart from that the 41-year-old is currently in the talks of bringing a famous themed restaurant to Singapore.

When he was quizzed on his growing fortune, Mark laughed and said, "How am I supposed to answer this?"

Is he a millionaire now?

"I have a lot of fixed assets. I do not have that much cash!" the bemused one said.

"Honestly speaking, every year on New Year's Eve, I have to distribute the staff's bonuses. It is really hard to count all that cash. Last year we counted till 7am in the morning before distributing their bonuses," he frankly shared.

As most of their workers are from China, the company decided that it would be most convenient for them to receive their bonuses in cash. He further explained, "That is why we are going to buy a cash counting machine this year. I'm not being proud by saying this - otherwise, we really can't count the cash!"

With his wife Catherine helping him to mind the business, Mark revealed that his finances are under her charge. So is his wife the "finance minister" in the household?

"My wife takes care of 20% of my income. I'll take-charge of the other 80%" he chuckled.

Choa Ah Beng...... Showing off and employ FTs.... CCB.... Phew

knn the coffee too sweet CMI......sinkies are really useless cannot tell good stuff from lousy stuff

As usual, a bunch of low life sour grape sinkie that went green when another one of his kind doing so well in life.

Instead of praising him and share his happiness. Losers here start giving bad remrks about his coffee and his character.

Take a real reality look, he is the one who is earning the money and not you. And he did nothing wrong to get any bad remarks, the only thing that he did is to earn an honest living and he had done it in an unsinkie manner.

The only problem is you bunch of cannot-make-it-in-life sinkie loser who has such low self esteem that you cannot accept the fact that you are a low life. Mark Lee has done nothing wrong.

This thread was started in early 2010.
Since then, I have been to this outlet once and only once.
Went for lunch and decided to try the Java mee, which I thought was a higher class and better version of mee rebus, since it cost about $6+.

Dunno whether it was meant to be like mee rebus but if it was, it was the worst mee rebus I have ever eaten.
Have never gone back since.

borrowing so much money to open new outlets eh........................

when recession comes......................all game over at the same time.................

They are not making money la. With the rents in town going at upwards of 30k. I knew the people who ran gloria jeans. They made losses on a daily basis. Some of the owners had shares in Dallas at boat quay and Hogs breath cafe. All not really making much. The rent is just too much for a coffee shop to survive in town.

Sinkie sinkie, so you are happy that they are not making any money? And you feel good about it?

He is clever to use cash rather than bank account payment... Can play round with the profit and accounting statements...

so now he is cheating based on your own understand just because he is earning a honest living and earning more than most of the sinkie losers here.

so does that mean that he can profit because he has a 'difficult' wife?
Now that we all know you're disgruntled EX-PAP grassroots member disowned by your Master after your creditors alarmed your grassroots leader about your debt situation, you continue to ball-lick your Master and gloat over the plight of ordinary Singaporeans, hoping to ball lick your way back to your Master.

You have been exposed !

Im just listing the facts. I dont really care about sinkees doing well or not doing well. I used to work in the Fnb sector. It was agony everyday waiting for customers to come in. Food costs and staff wages plus the rent was always on my mind. I had to call my boss everyday to report the sales to him. Some days the sales were really so bad.(less than 500 bucks) for a 30k rent. How to cover the cost. Gloria Jeans outlets makes 500 buck average a day for alll their outlets. Thats wh they closed. Even TCC not really surviving. I got a few friends in the FnB industry who tells me alot of negativity. Even places like Botak Jones not doing well even if you see lots of customers there. A food suplier friend told me they owe quite alot to suppliers of raw foods. I dont really care no more as I am going to leave shitipore in Dec for a new life abroad.
