Man under investigation for causing public alarm at Bugis MRT station

SINGAPORE: A 21-year-old man is being investigated by the police for causing public alarm at Bugis MRT station.*

In a news release on Tuesday (Mar 22), police said that on Mar 15, they were informed of the man allegedly seen carrying an object resembling a rifle at the station at about 1pm.*

The news release said "extensive police resources" were mobilised to identify the man, who was arrested in his Toa Payoh home on the same day.*

"Preliminary investigations revealed the object was a toy gun which the subject had bought online," said police.*
