Man pleads guilty to molesting 11-year-old daughter

SINGAPORE: A 47-year-old father of two has pleaded guilty to molesting his 11-year-old daughter on the pretext of giving her a massage.
The man, who cannot be named to protect the minor's identity, on Monday admitted to squeezing the girl's breasts some time in 2007, when she was about 11 years of age.
The girl was diagnosed with scoliosis, a medical condition that affects the spine.
As part of recommendations by a traditional Chinese medicine physician, she was to receive massages for her back.
The man would then carry out those massages on his daughter on his bed at their home in Serangoon Ave 2.
The victim noticed that the massages usually took place when her mother or older brother was not home.
The accused would also massage the victim with her clothes off when his wife was not home.
In 2007, on the pretext of giving her a massage, the accused squeezed the girl's breasts.
He also told her to take off her shorts and panties and continued to touch her before letting her leave the room.
The matter only came to light after the girl's teacher noticed the victim exhibited suicidal tendencies and was self-injuring.
The accused is expected to be sentenced on March 26. - CNA/nd
