Fierce 62yo SPG sprays neighbours with insecticide at Sembawang Coolies Estate

A 62-year-old woman has been jailed after a neighbour dispute at a Sembawang HDB block turned increasingly dangerous, culminating in her spraying insecticide directly at a mother and her 9-year-old daughter.
The woman faced 21 charges including causing hurt, rash acts endangering lives, mischief, and offences under the Protection from Harassment Act. She pleaded guilty to 8 charges on Thursday (14 May) and was sentenced to 14 weeks and 19 days in jail, and ordered to pay S$324 in compensation.
The trouble began in early 2025 at Block 473 Sembawang Drive, where the accused lived across the corridor from a 47-year-old housewife neighbour.
In February 2025, the accused was unhappy with the angle of her neighbour's security camera and deliberately splashed an unidentified liquid at her door, damaging marble flooring and the camera. Repair costs came up to S$2,048.
By July, a new flashpoint emerged over bicycle parking. The accused poured curry along the corridor to attract ants, and began threatening to splash bleach.
She followed through. Between 27 July and 1 August, she splashed bleach in the common corridor at least 11 times, putting residents at risk of contact with or inhaling the chemical. The neighbour noticed the wet floor and bleach smell, and her security camera captured the accused in the act. The police were called on 1 August, and the accused was arrested.
Released on bail, the accused became more aggressive rather than less.
On 24 February this year, the neighbour tried to slip back into her home quietly with her daughter to avoid running into the accused. It did not work. The accused spotted them and sprayed insecticide at both of them at close range.
Two days later, the neighbour picked her daughter up from school wearing a raincoat for protection. As they walked past the accused's unit, the accused ambushed them with insecticide again.
The husband called the police. Both mother and daughter were taken to hospital. The mother experienced headaches, a sore throat, and eye irritation. Her 9-year-old daughter had facial redness and eye irritation. Both were diagnosed with mild insecticide poisoning.
The accused was arrested on 1 March and was not granted bail this time.
