A man killed his older brother after an argument, leaving the mother devastated.
When the police were called at about 11pm on Monday to the Windemere condominium at Choa Chu Kang Street 64, they found Mr Morris Ng Yao Cheng, 26, lying in a bedroom.
He was pronounced dead at 11.16pm.
Ng Yao Wei, 21, his younger brother, was then arrested for murder.
The killing happened right in front of their mother, Madam Gan Chai Min's eyes. After Yao Cheng was stabbed, Madam Gan tried to stop the bleeding but it was to no avail.
Madam Gan also asked their domestic worker to go to the guardhouse for help.
Security officer Thinesh Muniady saw the panicking worker and followed her to the scene of the crime and witnessed the scene.
Neighbours said that loud arguments are commonly heard from the family's home.
Yao Cheng was a motion graphics designer and Yao Wei had just graduated from a diploma course at Singapore Polytechnic, where the was on the Director's Honour Roll in his second year.
Madam Gan has a hair salon business while their father, Mr Ng Soon Guan, 63, who was not present, is a taxi driver.
After Yao Cheng was attacked, Madam Gan was hurt wailing.
Yao Cheng's body was removed at 3.30am and the case is under investigations.
