A DELIVERYMAN was jailed for two months on Friday for assaulting his former girlfriend.

Ahmad Hanaffi Osman, 24, admitted to kicking and punching guest services officer Siti Jannawiah Sumani, 23, at Fragrance Hotel in Telok Blangah Road on Sept 22, 2010.

A district court heard that Ms Jannawiah had told Hanaffi that evening that she wanted to part ways, and that would be the last time she would meet him.

She denied having any boyfriend. Hanaffi took her cellphone and both had a dispute over their relationship issues.

During the dispute, he kicked and punched her on the upper left arm several times, causing her a bruise and swelling. The hotel management was alerted to the dispute and both were told to leave.

Hanaffi was also ordered to pay $1,000 compensation to the victim. He could have been jailed for up tor up to two years and/or fined up to $5,000.
