One was a quiet assistant who kept to himself, the other was a verbally abusive senior.

But they had a problem with each other at work that got progressively worse.

Then on Monday, the assistant, a 26-year-old worker from China, snapped.

Fellow workers saw him attack his 35-year-old colleague in a slashing frenzy with a chopper.

By the time he was through, Mr Zhu Ai Hua, a lorry driver, was dead with at least 10 slash wounds, including two deep slashes on the neck.

The incident happened at their workplace, Goodhill Enterprise, a renovations materials company at 26 Kranji Loop, at about 5pm.

The 26-year-old man will be charged in court today for murder.
