Man puts fork into penis for sexual gratification
A 70-year-old man arrived at the Canberra Hospital's Emergency Department with a 10 cm fork stuck in his penis.
According to a write-up in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports last month, the steel cutlery item was inserted “into the urethra to achieve sexual gratification”.
The fork, which was not visible, had been lodged in the organ for 12 hours before the man sought treatment.
It was finally retrieved via “forceps traction and copious lubrication” after multiple methods were considered.
“An open excision was not required,” the report added. The patient went home after the procedure.
“The motives for insertion of a variety of objects are difficult to comprehend,” the report said.
