SINGAPORE - A 53-year-old man was arrested for setting fire to a rubbish bin at the void deck of a block along Yuan Ching Road, on May 19.

The fire completely burnt the rubbish bin and blackened the ceiling of a walkway, the police said in statement.

A member of the public aged 31 reported the fire to the police. The police managed to identify the suspect through their investigations and arrested him on May 20 along Teban Gardens Road at about 4pm.

If found guilty he can be jailed up to 7 years and is also liable to a fine.
