I can assure you that PAP will do everything in its power to do the unimaginable. The only difference is that they will coat it with legality despite the named horse looking like a donkey. The GRC is one.

BN from the word go has always done their numbers game. Serdang in Selangor has 144k voters predominantly minorities while Padang Rengas in Perak has 28k voters. Serdang has close to 5 times the number of voters yet has only one seat in Parliament. BN has always divided its stronghold into smaller constituencies to retain power. Serdang is in DAP hands while Padang Rengas in BN hands.

Despite all the gerrymandering, they had to resort to blatant electroral fraud. Its shows the majority have no faith which clearly is evidenced by the lower popular vote.

The PAP style is gerrymandering, followed by introducing ridiculous features to the democratic insitution such as high deposits, GRC, TCs, monopolising talent and the time honoured practice of legal suits which surfaced recently with vengence. Alex and VW can sell the legal letters they received in the last 2 years on ebay, make a tidy profit and I bet they will have more to offer.

From the looks of it PAP appears to be assured of govt at least till 2021. After that, is anybody's guess. Will they cheat? I won't put it beneath them. The PAP like BN will get desperate when they are pushed nearer the precipice when 2021 arrives and beyond.

The things is, how to make sure such stuff doesn't happen in SG. Right now everything appears clean on the outside but what if PAP gets desperate? How to prevent them from going the path of BN?

The real question is how many opposition MPs will now defect to BN or become independent but essentially BN friendly?
After the 2008 GE, half-a-dozen PKR MPs defected to BN or became independents.

PM Lee congratulates M'sian PM on poll win
06 May 2013
SINGAPORE: Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong telephoned Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Monday afternoon to congratulate him on his victory in the hard-fought Malaysian General Election.
Mr Lee said that he looked forward to continue working with Mr Najib to strengthen ties. Both Prime Ministers agreed to further enhance their close bilateral partnership.
Mr Lee has also written a congratulatory letter to Mr Najib. In his letter, Mr Lee said the Barisan Nasional's convincing win reflects people's confidence in Mr Najib's leadership, and the value they placed on continuity and stability.
Mr Lee noted this was a particularly hard-fought general election. However, Mr Najib ran a strong campaign that focused on the people's concerns and persuaded them of his vision for Malaysia.
Mr Lee added that as discussed at their Leaders' Retreat in February, the two countries have large and growing stakes in each other's success. Mr Lee said his wife Ho Ching joins him in congratulating PM Najib, and in wishing him and his wife Datin Sri Rosmah continued good health and success.

You can't compare with 2008. Back then PR won Perak with just a majority of 3 seats, so a reflection of at least 2 seat will mean a change of Perak State Government. That was what happened.

In 2013, PK who 3 States with > 2/3, majority. Unless there is mass defection to BN, otherwise it will not have much impact on State Government change.

I am sure what happened will eventually trickle out.

From what I have seen and heard, it appears that BN had to resort to cheating even in the rural areas to win. These were lightly monitored by PR which is why we don't have much evidence emerging.

The rural vote is however only good enough to get a simple majority. To reclaim the coveted 2/3, they had to also cheat in the cities. This plan fell apart because of the large number of observers and monitors who recorded a large number of abuses.

Hence when Najib went to give his victory speech, he looked like he had lost rather than he won. His cheating campaign had failed to recapture the 2/3 and he ended up with fewer seats than Badawi. What's worse is BN appear to have lost the popular vote to PR. The fact that he saved BN from being booted out completely with his sucessful rural electoral fraud is something he cannot claim credit for. Barring a miracle, I don't think he will survive past the UMNO elections in December. Mahathir will be leading the way to install somone who can protect him and his family. Recall the threats by Anwar to do Chen Shui Bian on him.

Without cheating, would PR have been able to get 112 parliamentary seats?

BN polled nearly 4% LESS than PR in the popular votes. BN had successfully gerrymandered and cheated their way to victory.

The PAPzis are doubtless hoping that the GRC system in Singapore will do them the same favour.

GE13: Bersih 2.0 refuses to acknowledge poll results until irregularities are addressed

KUALA LUMPUR: Bersih 2.0 has refused to recognise the newly elected government, until reports of irregularities and violations in the election process are addressed.

Bersih co-chair Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan told reporters that the coalition and its observer group Pemantau had found numerous instances of fraud, phantom voters and other irregularities during the casting and counting of ballots.

"Hence we are questioning the legitimacy of some of the results during the general elections and are withholding our recognition of the government until the reports are addressed," she said.

Ambiga also blasted the Election Commission over its use of indelible ink.

"They failed miserably during the election. Their explanation of why the indelible ink could be easily washed off totally defies logic. It also raises questions of why so much money, RM10 million actually, was spent on ink that doesn't stay on the finger," she said.

Ambiga called on supporters to wear an article of black clothing for a month as a symbolic response to the cries of election fraud.

"I also call for a boycott of media organisations that had aided and abetted the uneven playing field" she said.

Five Pemantau observers were arrested in Wangsa Maju for "wrongful restrain" and were allegedly refused access to lawyers.

Another two were arrested in Ayer Keroh, Malacca.

It said that observers were also chased out of polling centres in Pekan, Temerloh and Danau Kota, by groups they claim were Barisan supporters.

Barisan won GE13 yesterday by a simple majority of 133 parliamentary seats to Pakatan's 89.

Pakatan leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim however refused to accept the results, citing alleged instances of irregularities in the voting process, like advance and postal votes, the presence of foreigners in the electoral toll and delays by the EC in announcing results in certain key areas.

Anwar said Pakatan would challenge the results of seats in which its candidates lost by thin margins of 1,000 to 2,000 votes.

Netizens have also cried foul over the GE13 results, with photos and videos of alleged foreign phantom voters and claims of blackouts that swung narrow calls circulating on social media.

Further to the previous post, there is a bit of good news for us. Malaysia GE 2013 has shown that you can only cheat sucessfully if you have a large rural area that make monitoring difficult and expensive. It does not work well in an urban setting as can be seen by the way so much of the cheating in cities was documented. Given that we are a city state, the BN way is closed to the PAP.

PR gain total 51% popularity and BN gain 47% popularity vote.
But BN get 60% seat and PR get 40% seat.
PR most vote are from city and BN most seat are in rural.

Who win???
I think citizen win. Now whoever rule will have hard time. People will question gov and ask many question.

Now each opposition party get one state. They will need to perform. They one have one chip to show result or will be voted out.

DAP did very well in Penang in the last 5 years, as did PR in Selangor. Kelantan's support for PAS has been solid for a long time. PAS did not do well in Kedah and were punished, and PR's majority in 2008 was very thin in Perak anyway.

Now each opposition party get one state. They will need to perform. They one have one chip to show result or will be voted out.
