If Aliens from another world were to arrive on earth, they will be wondering what's with earthlings fascination of putting balls in holes.
Sorry Jah.. Will not mention his name here, but the chap working now at this pizza outlet near Upper Serangoon... Saw him recently there while I was driving to Chomp Chomp..
If not because of football, most of these players would be working as warehouse assistants, pest control workers or despatch riders.. One of an Ass League player was my man during NS.. Played professionally for a few years, earning around 3K per month.. Bought a car, had many GFs.. Quite yaya.. Once saw him at Zouk acting like one farking EPL star... Last time I used to kan him upside down during his BMT.. When he saw me at the Zouk, gave me this sheepish smile.. Last I heard, his club dropped him from their squad.. With limited education very hard for him to find a job outside that can match his Ass League pay.. Now working as a rider for a fast food outlet..
Blue collar jobs are nothing to be ashame of. Someone has to do the dirty job. In peesai the PAP brainwash sinkees to a point where sinkees think only low class people or third world shit can do or tolerate these kinda jobs. In the west a garbage man can live side by side with a doctor in the same kinda property.

Malaysian cup brings back great memories for me and alot of other sinkees too im sure. After that, there is not much to cheer about in peesai.

In the past we still had Lim Tong hai, David Lee, Steven Tan... Now look at the team shit: All Mat Yoyos.
In the 90s we also got Lee Man Hon.. I remembered the asst coach back then assisting Doug Moore was Robert Lim.. In the late 80s it was Robin Chan who was our national coach.. Then we also have Goh Tat Chuan a very tenacious hardworking midfield player with a Degree... My NS buddy was in NTU together with Goh back then.. Nice humble chap..
Memories are made of the "Dream Team" of the 90s, the rivalry between us and Selangor in the 70s and 80s, the Towkay, the Spiderman, Samad "The Rock of Gibraltar" Alapitchay, banana kick Rajagopal, Mohd Nor, Dollah, the Quah brothers, Super sub Steven Tan, own goal specialist Lim Tong Hai... The team of the past had every race represented. Today's team consists of all two-bit footballing mats with the odd African being thrown in. What's there to support? Imagine an 8-10K mat gathering at the Jalan Besar on matchdays.

I remember that the jinx/rival team for Singapore was Kedah.
Did you notice the race of people who queued for tickets? All mats. My God! Tuesday at JB will be like a Mat convention. A soccer match played by mats for mats. If my memory served me correctly, there was once a Singapore Malays team and a Singapore Chinese team in the past? Maybe some older brothers here can enlighten me on that. This present team should be called the Singapore Malays Team.
