Consider crash helmets as interim safety measure

<!-- end left side bar --><!-- story content : start -->AN IMMEDIATE measure that would significantly reduce the number of deaths in accidents involving lorries is to make passengers wear crash helmets.
This is like motorcyclists and their pillion riders. In a serious crash, both may be flung from their vehicles and death from head injuries is likely.
Did the three foreign workers in the Pan-Island Expressway accident on Tuesday die from head injuries?
I have also seen lorry drivers driving at frantic speeds with scant regard for the safety of their rear passengers.
These passengers, usually foreign workers, are probably too afraid to protest for fear of being branded as trouble makers.

For years we've seen people dying. in these lorry accidents. So how come the issue is still around. Is it to distract people's attention from the other more serious issues


Doubt anything more substantial will be done except those stickers on how passengers should be seated or more laws. Making real changes such as using buses, coaches,.., for transporting workers would cost $$$b & we all know the PAP is the biggest employer in Spore.

I had seen people died in between the wheels of trucks/buses too but their heads does not seemed injured leh.

Please legistrate to wear body armour just like those shiny knights with spurs on their shoes (sorry no pic to show) to protect our talents while they ride our lorries or walk along our dangerous roads.

He brought his bike to a repair show and had to take a bus home.
No place to leave the helmet and didn't want to carry it.
