<!--start of story text-->A man convicted of six counts of hacking into the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) integrated resort's computer network was sentenced to two weeks' jail and fined a total of $30,000 on Tuesday.
On one of the occasions, the unauthorised access led to an hour-long power outage at the northern section of the casino on May 12, 2010.
Malaysian Leslie Lew Cheong Wee, 36, who is a Singapore permanent resident, is appealing against conviction and sentence.
He was found guilty after a 14-day trial of six charges under the Computer Misuse Act after securing access to the computer system without the MBS construction manager's consent.

I'm sure our government has already taken into account that such criminal acts would occur before it granted licenses to operate the two casinos. Our government prides itself in being PROACTIVE, FORWARD-LOOKING, etc...and justifies itself by paying its ministers, PM and Pres. astronomical salaries unmatched anywhere in the world.

May this guy get his sentence doubled after the appeal. This was awarded to a serial thief I read in Straits Times (guy who stole belongings at gym).
