Mahathir, Anwar or Muhyiddin?

both anwar and muhyiddin are not mahathir's favourite. Azmin is his protege
Everyone has a favourite, but those favourite must withstand the test to time and battle. Has HSK and CCS (PM's favoruite) worked in private sector or fought in real war before? Look at Halimah, nobody likes her, but she was shoved into Istana like nobody business as if she was the only "capable" one in Singapore.

So its strictly a 2 horse race, Anwar and Muhyiddin,,,,but its also a deadlock. So it will have to be determined by the King Makers,,,,most likely UMNO etc will win...but Muhyiddin will win...and also get sabotage by Madhatter who does it all the time...

KUALA LUMPUR: United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) have pledged their support for Mr Muhyiddin Yassin to be Malaysia’s next prime minister.
This came on the heels of a statement from Mr Muhyiddin’s Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) that all of its 36 MPs are backing him to take over the top post, effectively putting him on equal footing with Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) candidate Mr Anwar Ibrahim.

UMNO has 39 members of parliament (MP) while PAS has 18, said a joint statement signed by both parties’ secretaries-general Mr Annuar Musa and Mr Takiyuddin Hassan.
Bersatu’s 36 are believed to be 26 of its current MPs and 10 from Mr Azmin Ali’s faction which earlier quit Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
Separately, Malaysian Chinese Association and Malaysian Indian Congress have also backed Mr Muhyiddin. They have three seats in the parliament combined.
This brings the total number of MPs who have openly expressed support for Mr Muhyiddin to 96.

Earlier, the PH presidential council declared that Mr Anwar, who is PKR president, commands the majority of support in the House of Representatives.
The three-party PH coalition has 92 MPs.
Political alliances based in Borneo, including Parti Warisan Sabah and Gabungan Parti Sarawak are now seen as potential kingmakers. They have more than 25 seats in total.
There are 222 seats in the Malaysian parliament.
This story is developing.
These parties jostling with disregard for voters.
I’ll really like to see Unmo and PAS slide in via the backdoor and get back into Govt. I’m sure voters in Malaysia aren’t like sinkie sheep

This kind of thing does not work in malaysia. Yiu are either the PM or you are not.
True. A PM is a PM. He is the leader . MM and SM are just positions of glamour to collect fat paychecks

He ends up ranting and cursing like what he did with badawi and najib.amd eventually quitting as member of umno twice.
mahathir is a cry baby. He throws his tantrums when the PM doesntdo things his wife. When will the baby learn that the PM is not at his beck and call?

If Muhyiddin become PM then surely Mahathir is his advisor or mentor Minister ...
msia is mor advanced dan sinkielan, msia pm never nid 2 put on l-plate round his neck ...

KOTA KINABALU, Feb 28 — Parti Warisan Sabah maintained its support for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to remain prime minister even as new candidates emerged today.
Its permanent chairman Datuk Liew Vui Keong said that the party has not wavered in its decision from the beginning, but added that it is adopting a “wait and see” approach due to the fluid political situation.

“Our stance is still as before. Warisan is with Tun M,” he told Malay Mail when contacted this afternoon for comment following the nomination of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to be the eighth PM.
Liew indicated that Warisan is still keeping its options open.

“We wait and see. Until then everything is still blurry,” he said.

His statement is consistent with Warisan president and Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s statement last night that the party, which has nine MPs, was still behind Dr Mahathir.
Recently, Liew also said that Warisan was not a part of the plan or the “unity dinner” held Sunday night Sheraton Hotel in Petaling Jaya, which ostensibly triggered the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan administration.
According to a Bernama report, Shafie said “yes, of course” when asked whether he was still supporting Dr Mahathir. He was approached by reporters when visiting Muhyiddin’s residence in Bukit Damansara last night.
He, however, left after several minutes because it was understood that Muhyiddin was not at home.
Warisan, a local Sabah-based multiracial party, is allied with Pakatan Harapan leaders to run the Sabah state government but is not officially a part of the national coalition.
Shafie has said that the party will always cooperate with the federal government of the day, in the interest of the state.
He has repeatedly supported Dr Mahathir’s government, even before the latter’s resignation, as well as after.

Now, Kadir Jasin says Bersatu’s top leadership never agreed to back Muhyiddin as PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 — The Bersatu supreme council had never agreed to nominate Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister and is still firmly behind Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Kadir Jasin claimed today.
Kadir, also a member of the council, said Muhyiddin’s nomination by Bersatu’s 25 MPs was done without the consent of the party’s top leadership.

The allegation came just hours after the party issued a statement declaring support for Muhyiddin — who is now seen closer to obtaining majority support from the Dewan Rakyat after receiving nominations from Barisan Nasional, PAS and possibly Sabah’s Warisan this evening.
“The last decision the MPT (top leadership council) made during Monday’s meeting was to affirm its support for Tun Dr Mahathir to remain as prime minister,” he said in a statement.

Kadir said the declaration of support for Muhyiddin by Bersatu’s MPs came from the party’s secretary-general, Datuk Marzuki Yahya, and not the MPT.

If true, Kadir’s claim suggests a division within Bersatu which until this evening indicated its willingness to forge an alliance with rivals Umno and PAS.
Dr Mahathir had quit as Bersatu chairman on Monday purportedly in protest against the move to collaborate with Umno, a point he reiterated again during a special address delivered on live television on Wednesday when he explained his sudden resignation as prime minister.
But in a complete turnaround, Dr Mahathir took up the post again yesterday. This morning, the Bersatu chairman was believed to have held a meeting with all of the party’s MPs including with Muhyiddin.
He did not speak to the press when leaving.

To the average m&d,,,UMNO and PAS good,,bcos all mudslimes,,and Anwar does not have the support of the m&ds,,,so if erection was to be held now,,..than UMNO and PAS will win enough seats. Also in the Tajung Pai by erection, DAP lost soo badly to MCA in a constituency where cinas made up more than 50%. PH has lost the support of the cinas,,so I doubt PH will make any inroads this time round. During the last erection DAP over promised and the ppl now not happy

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 — Parti Amanah Negara’s Khalid Abdul Samad today pleaded with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to not betray Pakatan Harapan (PH), and allow the coalition to finish what he started.
In a series of Tweets this morning, the Shah Alam MP said: “Tun, let us finish what you started. Let us carry on with the mandate of 2018 for PH to govern and cleanse the administration of all forms of corruption to make Malaysia great again. Think of your grandchildren.

He then urged the interim prime minister not to betray the coalition and the nation.
“Please Tun, do not betray us and the nation as a whole. You think what you are doing is the best for the nation but it is not.
“Your final legacy should not be that of a Prime Minister who betrayed his people after having won their hearts.
“Please Tun, respect the rule of law,” he tweeted.
Khalid added that PH lawmakers proposed PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the next prime minister not to spite Dr Mahathir, but because they were left with no other choice.
“Please Tun, concede to the will of the rakyat. It’s time to let go.
“We chose DSAI (Anwar) as our candidate for PM, not to spite you or bring you shame but as you gave us no choice. You left PH and wanted to create a new mandate for yourself based purely on yourself. “How could we agree? We stand with PH and the mandate of 2018,” he said.
Khalid also said he had learnt to respect Dr Mahathir over the past few months working with him.
Last night, Dr Mahathir said the Malaysian Parliament will have the chance to resolve the country’s political impasse during a special sitting on Monday.
In remarks after announcing the 2020 Economic Stimulus Package, Dr Mahathir said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong believed that Parliament was the correct venue to determine the crisis caused by the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan federal government.
He said after two days of interviewing federal lawmakers, the Agong could not determine any among them who commanded a distinct majority to become the next prime minister.
