many smokers will tell u their lao peh, lao bu, ah gong, ah mah, chor gong, chor mah all heavy smokers but didnt suffer from any smoking related disease, lived till old ripe ages only to die naturally of old age

btw, what were the 1st signs of lung cancer?
Could be they quit a little too late. The doctors seem to agree that if you've smoked for a long period of time then it could take up to 10 years for you to go from high risk of cancer to low risk. I dont know how they arrived at these figures but it seems to be a consensus of sorts.
Quit smoking is one of the easiest things to do. I should know, I gave up so many times.

It's to help fight cancer.
Many people don't realise that smoking is also very bad for those around them. Had a friend who got lung cancer & has since passed away. She didn't smoke but worked for people who were heavy smokers.

U r right! Actually 2nd hand smoke is deadlier than 1st hand smoke. My cousin in law lost an aunty to 2nd hand smoke too while her heavy smoking father in law is still alive and healthy.
Cecilia should quit 'smoking' also..
I think those that have been smoked would disagree
