He wanted to buy two iPhone 5 handsets before flying home that evening.
Bangladeshi businessman Shaikh Bashir Ahmed, 56, thought he was getting a decent deal when he was asked to pay $1,150 for each handset at a Lucky Plaza shop.
But as he was about to leave the shop, he was asked to pay the remainder - $10,103.
Mr Ahmed had signed a receipt agreeing to also buy the "inhouse warranty bundle".
After much negotiation, he finally paid $4,280 for two iPhone 5 handsets.
A similar combination costs slightly more than $2,300 in the Apple online store.

Heard from a ex salesman selling 5k for a SIM card and there are actually fools hooking up to that.

All those tourists, some of them are transit and hoping to get "cheap" electronic before heading back to airport. Only to realized its way to ex but too late when landed back home. This is what my friend who is an ex salesman in lucky told me. They have lots of trick for survivor in lucky plaza

We yank the licence of entertainment joints for various kinds of silly abuse including noise but this form of cheating continues as it has for decades. I recall the Tourism board has some kind of penalty system in the past.
