is it lu or li .....si mi or sia mi?...which is the proper and correct hokkien word?

Seems like the people from penang like to use lu, while the singaporeans uses li... I also dunno which is correct

Taiwanese and Fujianese uses Li Ho and Sia mi and not Lu ho and Si mi.......Guess they must be wrong??

Not really.........I hear both ways of speaking in Singapore too.

Singapore? probably can have 4 or 5 ways or more.....due to the low vocab and authenticity

or

1 word can have 10 or 20 meaning....Lol

There is no such thing as authenticity when it comes to languages.......you speak to get yourself understood.......I'm pretty sure back in Fujian, the Hokkien will be different with in Taiwan, as well as different within Fujian, because it is based on locality........as dialects flourish even in different villages close to each other.

yes we should create or change it then...Pronounce Li ho become La Ho or even La he or etc.......Sia mi became Si mi ...Sinkie shall change it to So ma or etc...?

Same for Mandarin just change the pronunciation

That's how languages are.........it is never static..........always filled with local slangs, pronunciations, etc..........and that is the way languages are..........even in Russia, there're actually many languages going extinct.........and 148 are endangered............but it happens everywhere for many languages in the world.........languages come and go..........in due time, with China becoming the global empire and USA declining, we can start planning for the slow decline and demise of Inggalish......

local slangs are local slangs....proper words are proper words....dialects are dialects....

its like saying ni hao becomes nu hao......

Nothing wrong.....it only becomes evolved if said in the same locality it was spoken historically........no one expects Penang hokkien to be the same as Singapore Hokkien and Taiwan Hokkien and definitely not Fujian Hokkien.......that is what language is, meant for vernacular reasons, not holistic reasons.........as long as the neighbor understands what is spoken, that is alright for any language.
